(15-Aug-1973 to 18th-Mar-2015)
His name was synonymous to the mighty hindu god’s name and whose trait conveys great
positive message. Vijay Gopal (Vijay means victory, Gopal means Hindu God Sri Krishna). People fondly called Vijay. Born on the day when world’s largest democracy nation,
India, was in joyous mood of celebrating its 26th independence day,
15th August, he had spread the aura of cheerfulness with every person
who was with him. During his tenure, he became Indian-Australian. He resided in Sydney.
There is a
saying that legends are not born but they
are made. In literal sense, not every person may be a legend but
never-the-less their persona presents the true aspects like a doyen. He had a
personality which was unmatched.
During his
schooling he was always studious in academics, humorous in his talks yet
expresses tone of an orator, He was naughty yet playful. He was always
thoughtful in his approach. His class teachers always appreciated him for being
topper in all his grades consistently.
He was fantastic at playing indoor games chess, table tennis, and carom.
He was excellent at outdoor games like cricket, football. His charming vibes were extra-ordinary that the moment any stranger speaks to him becomes
personified.
Having done
graduation in India, he sensed a great career opportunities and migrated to the
tranquilizing Australia. Since the year 2000 for over a decade, he had put
sincere and smart efforts imbibed with talent and grew to the stature of

As almighty
has his word to a truly remarkable person like him, in the year 2014, he caught
up with a dreadful sickness of cancer. The moment when it was heard,
slight tremors were felt by him and his world was alarmed! It was not a usual matter to believe as he was
never addicted to anything like alcohol, smoking etc., yet he felt awry to see
the unforeseen. It took a while for everyone to believe and accept the fact
that life, which showed a true glimpse of a marvel, has shown different
strokes.
Family,
Colleagues, Friends, Acquaintance and his world gazed at the situation which
was untimely thing to witness.
For him
always family came first. As he expresses to his 2 children and wife that life is all about love and seamless
selflessness.
'Behind every successful man, there is a woman'. It may sound like a familiar saying. However, it is true in case of Vijay. Aruna Vijaygopal has put her strenuous efforts and ensured that his work-life balance is intact and their two smart kids are groomed well.
Walking in his successful footsteps Aniket Kobbanna who is son of Vijay Gopal, studying his 6th grade, explored his creative abilities and came up with a superb title for one of the event in his school and earned an honour to get his name printed on his school's newsletter as shown below.

Equally competent and putting her creative efforts, Ameya Kobbanna who is a daughter of Vijay Gopal, studying her 3rd grade, has exhibited some beautiful drawings.

I had the honour and privilege of working with Vijay Gopal.
ReplyDeleteWhen i joined AIG 2 years back everyone instilled fear in me about Vijay Gopal.
Few years down the line without any hesitation i could positively say all of them were ABSOLUTELY wrong as they failed to get to know him as a person the great character he possess and the incredible energy focus and passion that he bring on things you focus your mind on.
What I am in AIG today is greatly influenced by his guidance, mentorship and thought process that he instilled in me for which i am forever grateful as there could never be another Vijay Gopal.
I cherish all the moments I spent with him in KL,Sydney,Melbourne(memorable as we spoke for hours until midnight).
I am one who missed him terribly.God Bless you and rest in peace Vijay and always be my guidance from heaven.

DeleteDear Aniket
ReplyDeleteKVS as we used to call him in our school was one of my best friends in my class. We both used to sit next to each other and no one knows him better than me in the class. We always had real good time all the times.
For the last 10 years I was trying to figure out where my friend is. It is so sad that I am writing this with heavy heart and wish him peace.
I am back in Hyderabad and please do share your number so that I can call you at your convenience.
@KRS - If you get a chance to see this message, please share your number too. I will call you.
